Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays an important role in regional economies across the United States, and is one of EDA’s investment priorities. This priority ensures that economic development planning and implementation projects enhance or build community assets that support the growth of U.S. exports and increased foreign direct investment.

Since the beginning of the Biden Administration, EDA has invested over $232.9 million in 98 projects that promote and support FDI to help communities and regions build capacity for economic development. With this priority, there has never been a more important time to connect and strengthen domestic economic development with foreign investment goals.

As the designated regional development organization in South Central Minnesota, Region Nine Development Commission (RNDC) fosters partnerships with entities from both the public and private sectors to strengthen, promote, and leverage innovative strategies to position the region competitively, both domestically and globally.

Identifying new markets, supporting exports, and advocating for foreign investments in the nine counties are at the heart of RNDC’s mission of ensuring a robust regional economy that provides opportunities for all.
