Aug. 12, 2016 – With mammoth solar arrays popping up in south central Minnesota and more being planned, two organizations have scheduled workshops aimed at shining light on the opportunities the community solar gardens present.

A trio of informational meetings will be held in the area to educate average folks about the subscription options available for homeowners, businesses, local governments and nonprofit organizations. There will also be details on the potential for landowners to lease acres to community solar garden developers.

“It will get them on the right path to know if this is something they’re interested in doing,” Region Nine’s Allison Bluhm said of the upcoming workshops.

Those looking to attend have three options in the next four weeks. The first is Aug. 23 at the Winthrop City Hall, the second is Aug. 30 at the Waseca County East Annex, and the third is Sept. 7 at the St. James Library. All three run from 6-8 p.m.. Attendees are asked to sign up at wcregion9csg.eventbrite.com for the Winthrop workshop, at seregion9csg.eventbrite.com for the Waseca workshop and at swregion9csg.eventbrite.com for the St. James workshop.
