About the Speaker:
Cynthia Messer is the director of the University of Minnesota Tourism Center and is also an extension professor. She has nearly 40 years of experience in the tourism industry as both a practitioner and educator. Her work at the Tourism Center focuses on community tourism development and quality customer service education. She has authored numerous publications and educational materials including the Community Tourism Development manual, and the acclaimed At Your Service training curriculum. In addition to teaching tourism, she has consulted on international tourism projects, been a tourism operations specialist, and served as the executive director of a regional convention and visitor bureau.
