Senior LinkAge Line®
Information and assistance are provided to older adults via a toll-free
telephone number and a statewide database of services.
Health Insurance Counseling
Technical Assistance
Technical Assitance is provided to agencies and
organizations who are developing/enhancing programs, including assistance with grant writing.
Education and Training
The Area Agency on Aging provides education and training on issues that
are of interest and concern to older adults and service providers. The "Learning is for Life" conference is held annually for older adults and
professionals. Educational workshops and networking opportunities are
available throughout the day.
Volunteer Recognition
Annually, older adults are recognized for providing outstanding volunteer
service to their communities. The Golden Heart Award is presented in special
recognition of outstanding volunteerism by a nursing home resident.
Senior Centers
Quarterly meetings are held with senior center directors. Seniors centers
offer older adults the opportunity for education and skill building, entertainment,
socialization and personal growth.
Cultural Diversity
Special efforts are made to ensure that older adults from all ethnic and
racial backgrounds, especially those who are low-income, have equal information
and access to services.
