Primary responsibilities include grant writing and economic development technical assistance. Candidates must be able to work with a variety of public, private, and non-profit organizations to meet their needs. Position is within the Community and Economic Development Department of RNDC. Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Finance, Marketing, Business or a related field required. A Master’s Degree will be preferred. Must be available for evening meetings and travel as needed. Community & Economic Development Internship Opportunity: Region Nine Development Commission is seeking to hire a part-time Community & Economic Department Intern. The position is responsible for assisting Community & Economic Development Department staff with a variety of duties related to:
- Comprehensive land use planning
- Hazard mitigation planning
- Transportation and transit service planning
- Community and economic development activities
- Other tasks as assigned by staff.
Preference will be given to candidates currently enrolled in a master’s-level program related to urban and regional studies. Candidates must be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, and familiarity with multiple software applications. A working knowledge of ArcGIS is preferred.
